my friend had his ecg taken recently and the results were normal despite him having chest pains similar to heart attacks.

he would have these once every two or three weeks before the ecg, which gave us cause for concern. however, even though the ecg results were deemed fine, he still had these pain attacks.

could this mean something positively and negatively (other than the obvious)?
We were advised that there were no previous heart attacks. Could the chest pains mean anything other an Angina pectoris?
