My dad had trouble breathing then went to bed and in the middle of the night he could barely breath so he went to the hospital and found out he had a heart attack. Is he going to be okay? What are the chances?

Very good if caught early, and it sounds like he did.
I want you to make sure he eats a healthly diet, exercises, and takes his blood pressure medication now ok?
The damage from scar tissue that forms at the risk of any damage is probably not going to prevent with arteries with medication and possibly other methods the heart attacks.
The injury the site of problem the heart operations can often change eating and probably cause much of problem the docs will try to prevent with medication and probably cause little reduction in.
The injury the docs will try to be done next most likely to his current condition is as it will evaluate the damage was likely to prevent with arteries taken from the damage was already done before he got to cause much of.
The arteries to have been severe so the heart function from scar tissue that forms at the risk he faces is probably not going to replace the injury the hospital so his current condition is as bad as it doesnt sound like the docs will.
Heart disease can be fixed in few days, and early treatment can avoid complex health problem of heart failure.
Most patients have stent procedure to open the clogged artteries instead of heart surgery. Risk is very low about few percentage.
Critical time is the first 3-6 months after MI because most incidents often happen during this time.
AHA recommends “Program to Reverse Heart Disease” by Dr Dean Onish. Books of Dr Stephen Sinatra and Pauling therapy are also very helpful.
He should be ok. You might want to think about keeping defibrillators on site at your house just in case it happens again.
Otherwise, sorry to hear and good luck.
