My mom whom is 46 had a heart attack Saturday, She had 2 artiries blocked & they put a stint in them to unblock them, We are having a hard time finding any type of diet book with the types of food she can eat, Does anyone know if any good cookbooks, web sites etc… With information on foods she can eat after a heart attack ??? Thank you

      Normally the hospital or doctor will recommend a diet prior to being discharged. Hope she has a speedy, successful recovery.

      Cut down on Fats (especially Transfat and Saturated Fat), Eliminate Red Meat, and Fatty Cheeses. Eliminate High Calorie Foods (like soft drinks, desserts, etc). She should have 1 glass of red wine per day, 1 asprin per day and eat as many raw vegetables as possible. This is a good start. It’s hard and takes discipline but she can do it!
